Located in Manhattan, The West is one of the most defining projects Blended with FRONT materials have worked on. In collaboration with Zilverschoon Randwijk, a custom WasteBasedBrick was developed that brings together aesthetic refinement and circular design. Custom WasteBasedBricks are available via FRONT Materials.

We focused together with Concrete Architects on creating a material that preserved the raw character of waste while meeting the demands of large-scale architecture. Through testing, iteration, and craft, we found the right balance between texture, color, and durability.

The result is a facade almost made entirely from recycled materials, giving new life to 261,886 kilograms of waste. The West stands as proof that sustainability and design can coexist beautifully, even in the heart of a metropolis.
