Verkadefabriek
We asked ourselves why research and development should stay behind closed doors when it can live within a real project. That question led to our collaboration with architect Rian Knop for the Verkadefabriek. We wanted to turn experimentation into something tangible and lasting.
During our ongoing material research, we created several test batches, usually destined for the archive or recycling. This time, we refined, adjusted, and repurposed them for real application. The project became a live experiment, merging development, craft, and architecture.
The result is a 38 m² wall inside the Verkadefabriek, a physical expression of our process. Every tile holds traces of testing, error, and discovery, showing how research can shape something both functional and beautiful.
